About Us

We are the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, an international Roman Catholic religious congregation of Brothers and dedicated Lay Partners bound by a shared mission: to rescue young people from ignorance, prepare them for life, and give them a knowledge and love of God. Founded in Lyon, France, in 1821 by Father André Coindre amidst the social chaos of the post-French Revolution era, our Institute began by creating a sanctuary and trade school for neglected and marginalized youth. Today, that original spark has grown into a global educational apostolate stretching across 30 countries. Whether in our traditional classrooms or through innovative community projects, our commitment to meeting the needs of youth—especially those who are most vulnerable—remains entirely unchanged.

At the core of who we are is a belief in holistic education, a mission that our community continues to support in creative new ways. In this spirit, our retired Brothers have channeled their lifelong dedication to youth into a unique ministry: crafting high-quality, artisanal soap. Every batch is handmade with care and every bar wrapped in a handmade exfoliating bag, with 100% of the proceeds dedicated to funding scholarships for students in our schools who otherwise couldn't afford a quality education. Guided by a "friendly discipline" and inspired by the unconditional love of Christ, we strive to walk alongside young people as mentors and companions, empowering them to become compassionate leaders capable of making a positive, lasting difference in our world and bringing about the Kingdom.
